Where Have You Been?

Well, let me tell you. We've been pretty much all over the midwest. Last month we went to Ryleigh's doctor appointment in St Louis and immediately headed to Indiana. Then the following weekend Ron and Vicky came for a visit. Then we had a weekend off. My, oh my how fast that went! Then we were back on the road. We went to a wedding in Kansas City. Then we loaded up and headed to Hopkinsville for Father's Day weekend and more importantly, for a surprise birthday party for a certain Pop who turned 60! I think he was pretty surprised. Whew!

So in all the hubub I haven't updated the blog and I definitely lost track of the June photo-a-day.

So how's about some pics from the ol' iPhone?

6/9: how momma spent time in the hotel room while daddy rode around carefree on the party bus with the rest of the wedding party. don't judge.

6/9: how ryleigh spent her time in the hotel room waiting for daddy and the party bus to return. eating cheerios, a fave pastime.

6/12:  lilies on mizzou campus. instagram style.

6/12: more lilies at mizzou

6/15: are we there yet?
sad eyes on the way to mimi & pop's house. so ready to get out of her car seat.

6/15: single rainbow all the way - almost to hopkinsville

6/15: another rainbow shot

6/16: a peaceful little spot by the pond

6/18: sunnies

6/20: modeling her new myrtle beach t-shirt from the lexington rowes. :-)

6/21: balloon that passed over on our evening walk

6/22: not the best pic, but i finally snapped one of those two little teethers

6/24: the tooth fairy isn't being so nice to ryleigh. but mommy will gladly help with lots of extra snuggles.

Hooray!

Little Ryleigh started clapping the other night. I think it was for Pop's 60th birthday. In just a couple days she has gotten better. She even clapped when I got her up this morning. Such a sweetie!

Have a great weekend!!

It's June

I didn't do very well at the May photo challenge. I just wasn't feeling all that inspired. For all sorts of reasons I think. But I am going to go ahead and try the June challenge. I think I'll just post some of the photos every few days...or maybe just once a week. We'll see what I feel like. And after all, it's my blog so I'll do what I want. ;-)

Here's the June list:

one: morning
yeah buddy, coffee and cereal nearly every a.m.
two: empty avocado
three: on my plate
can you see the peanut butter oozing out of that burger? boy was it yummy!!
Hmmm... three days, three photos of food. I wonder what the rest of the month will bring.

Ryleigh's Pool Party

I'm a little behind in my posts. Here are a few photos from Ryleigh's little pool party last weekend. Thanks for the pool Mimi and Pop!! And thanks for the cute swimsuit Grandma!!

she didn't quite know what to think when she splashed herself in the face
this pool stuff is serious business
keeping an eye on pop after breakfast at bob evans

Mission Accomplished

The past few days little Ryleigh has been working hard on a new trick...getting up to sitting all by herself. I think it is safe to say she has now mastered the move. Please excuse my shaky cinematography, she moves pretty fast and I barely got the camera in time to catch her.

There will be no keeping her down lying on her back now.

And a little note about Ryleigh's quilt in this video. I may have mentioned it before (or I may not have, I can't remember). It was a gift from our wonderful friend (and amazing quilter), Natalie. We told her the color scheme of Ryleigh's room and she made the quilt to coordinate. It is awesome! You may have noticed that it is in A LOT of photos and videos. We lay it out all the time for her to play on. We absolutely love it and it will be a cherished gift for many years. Thank you so much Natalie!
